One of our most popular constructions. These chunky heeled women's loafers are both beautiful and near-indestructible. Named after Lauren's aunt Kitty.
About Kitty Loafer
We officially released our Kitty loafer at our New York pop-up in late 2019. It quickly became our most popular style of the season. Customers loved it for it's beautiful production and unique silhouette. What sets Kitty apart and gives it a contemporary vibe is its flared heel and chunky outside. This fall (2020) we've broughit back in three new colors.
Are Loafers in Style?
We started to notice women's loafers in coming back in 2018; like a lot of trends, it was thrifters who first brought them out. Now almost every designer brand has put their stamp on the trend, and it's easy to see why. They're comfortable, durable, slightly tomboyish in a preppy way, and easy to integrate into your wardrobe. They look great with jeans, or a dress, with or without socks, even with a suit. They can be formal or dressed down.
Labucq was founded by Lauren Bucquet in the fall of 2018. Before founding this brand, Lauren spent 10 years as a director of footwear and accessories at Rag & Bone, designing and developing some styles which became global footwear trends. Lauren founded Labucq to bring designer sensibility to the direct to consumer market, offering high quality, Italian-made shoes at low markup DTC prices. Read more about our intention.
Made in Italy
All of our shoes are made in Italy, through factory relationships built painstakingly over a decade plus of shoe experience. Kitty in particular is made in Tuscany, between Florence and Pisa. This is Renzo who owns and rns the factory alognside his two sons. He and his staff bring an uncommon conscientiousness and a level of perfectionism which you'll notice immediately when unboxing your pair.
