LABUCQ | Chan White Patent The inspiration for the Chan came from a 90’s Prada sandal I’ve been meaning to rework for the last 5 or 6 years, which struck me as having the perfect balance and form; minimalistic without excessive seriousness, refinement without snobbery. When I started to think about what I wanted to wear in the summer of 2019, this inspiration immediately came to mind.

Labucq Chan Inspiration

A trend we’re all noticing as we roll into Spring is the spaghetti strap “naked” sandal. This can be a great look, but for me feels a bit stressful. It isn’t really what I want to be wearing everyday, on the subway, and in the deli. Chan is; the straps are wide and hold your foot as comfortably as a shoe. The block heel gives you a little bit of height and femininity, but makes it easy to walk in. It’s balanced.

We liked the samples of Chan so much we had to order 5 colors; three patent leathers, Honey, Lime, and White, an auburn python print (we’re calling it “Rosewood”) and a fun, Zebra printed hair calf.

Chan is named for my lovely friend Julia Chan, who has been an incredible asset to our brand and who personifies the qualities we love about this sandal.

Cheers to warmer weather and summer months ahead!

x

Lauren
